Activities

Woodland WalksWhatever the Weather

The children are able to access the garden whatever the weather. We provide spare wellie’s, raincoats, hats, gloves and sunglasses.

Woodland Walks

We go on "wander" walks to the woodlands near to Polesden Lacey House. The children enjoy squelching in the mud, observing the wild life, nature and farm animals.

French lessons

Our 3-4 year olds are able to access French lessons with Emma on Monday mornings at 9.30am. Emma is a licensee of " La Jolie Ronde" , the UK s leading language provider. If you would like to know more please follow this link. wwww. La Jolie Ronde.

Music and Movement

All our children have the opportunity to join in music and movement with Julie. Music and Movement classes take place on a different session each week.. Julie is a Bus Stop Team Member and is a qualified dance teacher in ballet,stage and tap.

Yoga

Once a week our pre-school children have the opportunity to join in Yoga with Valerie. Valerie is a qualifified in Yoga instruction.



Cooking

Cooking Sausages in the GardenEach term we plan cooking activities that relate to our chosen topic. Whilst cooking we encouraged the children to think about healthy foods and to try new foods. The children take it in turns to work with an adult to follow a recipe and create something to take home.

Fundraising Events

We are an official fundraiser for Epsom Hospital Maternity and Paediatric Ward.

At Harvest time we take gifts and sings to the residents at Keswick House Care Home in Bookham.

At Harvest time we visit the local Greengrocers to buy vegetables to make vegetable soup and visit the cafe for a hot chocolate.

During the summer we join in to raise money for ‘Bookham Village Week’ and hold a children's stall at the annual ‘Bookham Village Day’.

We also vist the local infant schools to help our older childrens smooth transition to school.

Pre-School Events

Making Chinese DragonsThroughout the year we invite the children’s families and friends to join us to celebrate ‘Harvest’, ‘Christmas’ and ‘Easter’. At the end of the summer term we have a sports day and hold a ‘Leavers concert’ for those children off to infant school.

Celebrations

We encourage the children to learn about others cultures, religions and beliefs. Every year we celebrate Diwali – the Hindu festival of light, Christmas, the Chinese New Year and celebrate the children’s birthdays.
We welcome all cultures, religions and beliefs at Bus Stop and are always happy to celebrate events that are important to the children and their families.
